Sarah C.'s Divine Design

Nurse & Mother of Three

"Sarah is a 38-year-old pediatric nurse and mom of three. She has spent her entire adult life pouring into others — her patients, her kids, her church small group, her neighbors. She never complained. But last spring she hit a wall: exhausted, overlooked, and quietly resentful. A friend suggested the Calling Navigator assessment. Reading her results felt like someone finally saw her. She learned that her instinct to care for others is genuinely from God — but she also discovered the warning signs she had been living in for years. She now understands why she burns out, why she struggles to receive help, and what a sustainable, God-honoring version of her calling actually looks like."

Scripture for This Calling

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

— Galatians 6:2

Your calling to 'Give Care' mirrors the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. You have been given a unique ability to sense what others need and the generous heart to meet those needs.

Supporting Verses:

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'" — Matthew 25:40
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." — 1 Peter 4:10
Strengths to Steward
  • Deep empathy and relational intuition
  • Natural ability to serve and support others
  • Warm, generous heart
  • Skill in creating meaningful connections

These are gifts to steward, not achievements to boast in.

Growth Opportunities
  • Neglecting your own needs while caring for others
  • Struggle with receiving help or admitting limitations
  • Tendency to base worth on being needed

Scripture invites you to: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Your worth is in Christ, not in what you do for others.

Warning Signs: When Off Track
  • Feeling resentful when your service isn't recognized
  • Manipulating others through guilt or martyrdom
  • Complete depletion with nothing left to give
  • Inability to say no, even when God isn't calling you to serve
Path of Obedience

1. Receive Before You Give

Spend time receiving from God daily before you serve others. You can't pour from an empty cup.

2. Practice Healthy Boundaries

Understand that saying 'no' to some things is saying 'yes' to God's best for you.

3. Let Others Serve You

Accept help graciously, recognizing that others need to use their gifts to serve too.

4. Meet with a Mentor

Find a mature believer who can help you discern between God's calling and people-pleasing.

The Non-Negotiable: Discipleship

You cannot walk this path alone.

Without a mentor: You risk self-deception, creating your own calling, and missing warning signs.

With a mentor: You gain perspective, accountability, and wisdom from someone further along the path.

Next Steps for Finding a Mentor:

  • Pray and ask God to reveal someone with mature faith
  • Look for someone 5–10 years ahead of you spiritually
  • Share your assessment results and ask for regular meetings
  • Be vulnerable about your struggles and growth areas
